The accident occurred on Wednesday before 4 p.m. at an unguarded railway crossing in Dylewo, Rypin County. At an unguarded railway crossing, a passenger car drove under a Katowice-Gdynia train.
Brigadier Cezary NowiÅ„ski, spokesman for the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Rypin, confirmed the incident. – Before 4 p.m. we received a report that a passenger car had collided with a train at an unguarded level crossing in Rypin – he said.
A woman is dead
Despite resuscitation attempts, the driver could not be saved.
– When firefighters arrived at the scene, the police and the ambulance team were already there, performing resuscitation on the woman who was travelling in the car. An air ambulance helicopter was also called, but unfortunately the driver of the vehicle could not be saved and the woman died. There were no passengers in the car – informed the firefighter.
The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor.
