Three Israeli Arabs and two hotel workers were wounded in the Taba resort on the border with Israel. This information was provided by Egyptian services. This did not confirm the reports of a knife attack that had been previously reported by media in Egypt, Jordan, and Israel.
According to local media, the Israelis refused to pay for hotel services, which provoked the argument. The first reports in the afternoon, carried by Egyptian and Israeli media, said that six tourists had been stabbed. The Jordanian website Royal News reported that the victims were Israelis.
The Israeli daily “The Jerusalem Post”, citing local Egyptian media, did not provide the nationalities of those attacked. Also writing about six wounded people, it emphasized that the attack did not have to have a terrorist background, and that it was perhaps about another “criminal action”.
