On Thursday, the provisions prohibiting the placing on the market of spirit beverages in so -called alcohubs entered into force – the Ministry of Agriculture informed. As added, due to the demands of producers, a 30-day transitional period was introduced, allowing trade in “alkotubs” up to February 28 this year.
“We would like to inform you that from today, i.e. on January 30, 2025, the ordinance of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development is in force on detailed commercial quality of packaging of some spirit drinks,” said the Ministry of Agriculture on Thursday. New regulations for packaging and capacity
The regulations also specify the minimum capacity and type of packaging of such drinks sold in Poland. According to them, spirit drinks with a capacity of up to 200 ml can only be sold in bottles or cans. The ministry, taking into account the demands of producers, introduced a 30-day transition period. It allows for trading “alkotubs” up to February 28 this year. “Until that day, the assortment is forbidden to be completely withdrawn from trade,” MRIRW emphasized.
The ministry has assured that the provisions of the Regulation “are acceptable to the European Commission and after 3 months of expectations for notification, regardless of the prepared appeal proceedings announced by the producers, they enter into force today, i.e. January 30 this year.”
The media informed about the appearance in the sale of alcohol beverages in soft packaging resembling mousses, “Alkotubki” at the turn of September and October.
