Two Texas men are incredibly lucky. They found themselves in the middle of a tornado while fishing in a boat and survived. The moment of impact was recorded.
Dozens of tornadoes tore through the southeastern United States late last week. Many buildings were destroyed and four people were killed.
American media describe the extraordinary story of two men from Texas. Brian Johnson and a friend were fishing in the Winnie area near Houston on Saturday. Suddenly the weather deteriorated and a tornado came. There was also a dog on the boat.
It was too late to turn back. At one point the boat capsized and everyone fell into the water. As Johnson told local media, he managed to hold on to the boat, and after the disaster passed, the man located his friend. Help soon arrived and the men, along with the dog, made it safely to shore.
“I made a terrible decision”
– I shouldn't be here telling you this story. I made a terrible decision. There were warnings and I didn't listen to them. God must have spared me for a purpose, said Johnson, who is a pastor.
The moment the tornado hit was recorded by a camera placed in the boat. The US Weather Service reported that wind speeds reached 221 kilometers per hour.
