Water is only drinkable after boiling – this is the case in Słubice and several nearby towns. Reason: reappearance of coliform bacteria.
The District Sanitary Inspector in Słubice and the municipal authorities informed on Friday (9 August) about problems with water from the public water supply. Tests carried out by the sanitary inspectorate confirmed the presence of coliform bacteria in the water supply.
The announcement states that water is conditionally suitable for consumption after boiling. The warning applies to Słubice and the surrounding towns: Kunowice, Nowy Lubusz, Kolonia Nowy Lubusz and Pławidło.
How to use water?
Sanitary Inspectorate He said that “water should be boiled for at least two minutes” and then left to cool without cooling rapidly. Water requires boiling for: drinking, preparing meals, washing raw fruits and vegetables, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing newborns and infants.
“Water without boiling can be used for washing, laundry, cleaning and flushing toilets. Work is underway to restore the water quality,” the release reads.
The recommendations are valid until they are revoked in a subsequent announcement. Information is published on the website of the District Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Słubice and on the website of the local commune office.
In July, the city and the commune also had a problem with drinking water. Then, too, the reason was contamination with coliform bacteria.
