Due to the high prices, many Poles plan to shorten their holiday trips – or do not plan them at all. Prices are still rising. Everyone wants to relax, but inflation forces you to save.

On sunny days, it’s nice to relax in the mountains or by the sea, but the magic breaks when you need to drink or eat something. Prices are rising, and it is even more noticeable during holidays. You can’t blind anyone by bending reality. – Inflation, as President GlapiÅ„ski says, is on a plateau. Only prices somehow do not want to go down to this plateau, because everything is getting more expensive – notes JarosÅ‚aw KaÅ‚ucki, travelplanet.pl tourist portal.

A family of three has to pay for holidays in Poland or abroad as if they were paying for four. – This is an average increase of about PLN 1,000 to even PLN 1,500 compared to last year, although of course there are also destinations that are much cheaper – says Dr. Piotr Kociszewski from the Vistula School of Tourism and Hotel Management.

A holiday for the chosen ones

Less than half of Poles plan to go on vacation. Every third trip is considered if it is possible to save money on other expenses in the household budget. Every fifth knows that the holidays are nothing. Who has the courage to find out about the prices of holidays or trips – now is the best time. Last minute deals no longer guarantee savings. – Money is hot all the time and tourists, having learned from last year’s experience that the later they bought this holiday, the more expensive it was, and much more expensive, now decided to buy well in advance – explains JarosÅ‚aw KaÅ‚ucki.

According to the analyzes of not only travel agencies – abroad it is similar or cheaper. – We’re going to Italy. Not counting the cost, I think that it will be 1/3 cheaper – argues one of the people.

Planning a holiday abroad is strategic planning today. It is cheaper off-season – in June and September – and it shows in the reservations. Only every tenth offer is an offer for two weeks, because the vast majority of vacationers shorten their trips to a week, choose cheaper destinations and lower the standard of the hotel by one or two stars to reduce costs. Decisions about holidays in Poland are more spontaneous.

Unfortunately, they will no longer be supported by a travel voucher. – Often, tourists have been on vacation for the first time in several years and probably will not leave for the time being – says BartÅ‚omiej Bryjak, Villa “BasieÅ„ka” in Zakopane.
