There are such European analyzes of the so -called system adequacy that show that the situation in Poland is beginning to be difficult – Dr. Joanna Pandera from the Energy Forum said in the “#Bez putr” program. In the context of a great power failure in Spain and Portugal, she was asked about the situation in what situation Polish energy is.

Continental Spain and part Portugal They were affected on Monday with a large power failure. In Madrid and Lisbon, there were no Traffic lights and metro, railways also stood in both countries. There were difficulties at airports. In Portugal, the lack of electricity has disturbed the functioning of some hospitals. The failure was repaired relatively quickly, because the current was restored everywhere the next day, after several hours. However, this event caused a series of questions throughout Europe about whether and how individual countries are prepared for the so -called Blackout. What is the situation in Poland?

– I think our system is under great pressure. There are such European analyzes, the so -called system adequacy that show that the situation in Poland is beginning to be difficult. She is not difficult in the perspective of the year, two, three, because here is really by constructing support systems, making such minor repairs of the system that the operator does, you can balance delivery. But our problem is that we have to mention a lot of coal power plants and this is what to replace, not turn off, because you are often talking about switching off, and too little is said about what we will turn on – she said in the program “#bez putty” by Dr. Joanna Pandera from the Energy Forum.

The expert pointed out that “here you need both renewable units: wind, sun, but units are also needed that will be flexibly worked and balanced by the system.”

“Our situation is very bad”

Jakub Wiech, editor -in -chief of the Energetyka24.com portal referred to the call of President Duda, who wants to convene the National Security Council and discuss Poland's energy security.

– This is a very right move and I am glad that after Blackout in Spain it happened, but where was President Duda, when in 2020 we fell 4 gigawatts from the system due to a failure at the Bełchatów Power Plant, Łagisz, Lower Odra and Kozienice and Jaworzno? Wiech asked. – Where was President Duda, when in 2021 the entire Bełchatów power plant fell out of the system through a failure in one distribution station? Where was President Duda, when in 2021 we were hardly able to complete the system reserves in December? he added.

Wiech pointed out that “we had to ask the operators of other systems to come to us with power, because we simply lacked the power plant.”

– Last year we had 600 megawatts of power in the reserve due to the tragic situation of the power system. If, for example, there were such additional pressure in the form of a failure in a large manufacturing unit in all these situations, then maybe we would have Blackout in Poland – he noted.

The expert pointed out that “our situation is very bad when it comes to electricity. And it should be the number one topic of all campaigns.”

– I am glad that she appears, only appears in a disinformation way. For example, it appears in such a way that we will reject the green order or hang the ETS. Nobody talks about real actions in the energy sector that must be taken – he assessed.

Russia versus Europe

Dr. Joanna Pandera said that “outside Europe there is a lot of interest in that this transformation and the modernization of the system would not pretend to be.” And she indicated that it was so for several reasons.

– We annually as European Union We spend EUR 400 billion on the import of fossil fuels. This is a powerful market and simply Russia He is just waiting for the one to be able to sell coal and gas to the European Union again. And this pressure, and as if this reluctance to energy transformation, to renewable energy sources She is understood because someone is losing – explained Dr. Pandera.

The planet does not burn, but …

Radomir Wit noted in a conversation that “some candidates and applicants for a place in the Presidential Palace, for example, do not see that the planet has been flowing today.” He said that Karol Nawrocki Saying that he is “a decisive opponent of green order.”

– I don't like the statement that the planet is burning. In the sense, it is vivid, it reflects the nature of this phenomenon, but it can be illegible. I prefer to say it on more specific things, such as global warming will make us pay much more for food, because it will hit the food supply chains first. Global warming will make us forced to face multi -million climate migrations that may start in the next few, several years – said Wiech.

The editor -in -chief of Energetyka24.com noticed that these migrations are already underway and “these will be huge masses of people who will want to get to Europe.”

– So having in mind migration crisis from 2015-16, remember that it caused him to flow into Europe by two million people. What will happen when 20 million flows? And these are such scales. I also think that we speak too little in the context of energy transformation and climate policy about possible benefits – the journalist pointed out.

Dr. Pandera assessed that “if someone is not interested in environmental protection or is not interested in some aspect, it is difficult to force him to be interested in.”

– Of course, if he is a politician and makes decisions, he is bad that he displaces, as if he suddenly stopped dealing with health service or transport in the country. This is very bad and it proves bad. But if he does not convince someone, let him look at the aspect of energy security, but in such a dimension to reduce our dependence on external suppliers – she pointed out.

The expert pointed out that “we are still hanging on the import of fuels from the outside. Traders also like to manipulate prices. Geopolitics affects the prices that suddenly cause that the price of gas, coal, oil is rapid. And we can do nothing about it, because we need fuel for our economy.”

– If this aspect of electrification, transformation, reduction of participation, because I do not say that leaving in five years, but the reduction of this relationship does not convince someone, it means that maybe he should not deal with politics – she concluded.
