“Is this the first miracle of Francis?”

There was a huge simplicity of the message, ritual in all this – said Paweł Gużyński in “Facts after Facts”, commenting on the Saturday funeral ceremony of Pope Francis. In turn, Father Kazimierz Sowa said that it is important not only who took part in them, but also who was not there.

A funeral ceremony took place on Saturday Pope Francis. About 250,000 people gathered at Mass in Saint Peter's Square, 160 delegations from dozens of countries came to Rome. At least 150,000 people gathered on the streets of the Italian capital on the route of a funeral conduct.

“(Funeral) looked modest, as Pope Francis wished,” said Gużyński, emphasizing that he reviewed the history of Ordo Exsequiaraum, i.e. the funeral ritual of the Pope.

He said that “he reached for the times of John XXIII, who was buried as the head of state, with all the various, the strangest habits.” – Today, fortunately, there was a huge simplicity of the message, ritual, everything was like Pope Francis – emphasized the guest of “Facts after Facts”.

Father Kazimierz Sowa asked if “we can think that Pope Franciszek said so much. – It seems to me that a basic papal message has been preserved.

According to Father Sowa, the funeral ceremony was characterized by modesty and the fact that the burial ceremony had a personal, not a media character.

– I agree that for the average recipient it was a manifestation of the departure of a very important person, a spiritual religious leader, but also leaders in the political world – said Sowa.

Kazimierz Sowa mentioned that it was of great importance to who appeared at funeral ceremonies (mentioning, among others, the president France Emmanuel Macron). – It is also of great importance who was not. There was no one from the Chinese delegation, even at the level of the ambassador's representation – said the guest of “Facts after Facts”.

Father Sowa added that Russia was represented by a diplomatic representation. He also said that the second thing is who and how it was displayed in this diplomatic order. – I read that the use of order according to the names of states in French and not English was also to allow some delegations more exposed. This applies, among others, to the presidents of the United States and Ukraine (Donald Trump and Wołodymyr Zelanski) – he said.

“Franciszek's first miracle”

Zielnski and Trump met in the Basilica of Saint Peter before the funeral of the Pope. The President of Ukraine reported that he had carried out with the president USA “Very symbolic meeting”.

When asked about the meeting of Zelanski and Trump, Paweł Gużyński said: – I hope that he would bring the desired consequences, i.e. that we will bring a year after the step to the conclusion of peace, to a lasting room.

Father Sowa quoted the words of Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, who said that “the Pope gave us an example of a church, which is a meeting and dialogue place.” – These words were said after the meeting we saw (Trump with Zelanski – ed.) – said Sowa. – Somewhere on one of the social networks, even someone asked if this was Francis' first miracle? Maybe a little forward (…), I would not be surprised if this meeting also had some consequences in the political, international dimension – added Sowa.
