This night will be rainy in parts of the country, with heavy rainfall in some places. According to IMWM first-degree warnings, the phenomena may be accompanied by storms. Locally, up to 35 liters of water may fall per square meter. Find out where to watch out.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.

IMWM warnings – heavy rain with thunderstorms

Level 1 warnings for heavy rain expected during stormsare valid in the voivodeships:

  • Opole provincein the following counties: GÅ‚ubczyce, Prudnik, Nysa;
  • Lower Silesiain the KÅ‚odzko and ZÄ…bkowice poviats;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipin the following counties: Brodnica, RypiÅ„ski, Golubsko-DobrzyÅ„ski, WÄ…brzeźno, CheÅ‚mno, GrudziÄ…dz, Grudziadz and secular;
  • Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipin the counties: Braniewo, ElblÄ…gElblÄ…g, Ostróda, IÅ‚awa, Nowe Miasto;
  • Pomeranianin the following counties: Kwidzyn, Sztum, Malbork, Nowy Dwór, GdaÅ„sk, Tczew, Starogard, KoÅ›cierzyna, GdaÅ„sk, Gdynia, SopotKartuzy, Wejherowo and Puck.

In the above regions, rainfall is forecast, with periods of moderate to heavy intensity, with a total of 15 to 30 liters of water per square meter. Locally, approximately 35 l/sq m may fall. Precipitation may be accompanied by storms with wind gusts reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour.

Warnings in the Opole region will be valid until 9 on Sunday. In Lower Silesia, warnings will be in force until 7 on Sunday. It will be dangerous in Pomerania, Kujawy and Warmia until 10 on Sunday.

IMWM warnings – intense rain

Level 1 warnings are also in force against heavy rainfall in the voivodeship Silesian in the following counties: Racibórz, Rybnik, RybnikWodzisławski, ŻoryJastrzębie-Zdrój, Pszczyna, Cieszyn, Bielsko-BialaBielsko and Żywiec.

Rainfall is forecast between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday, with periods of moderate or heavy intensity. The forecast rainfall is expected to range from 15 to 30 l/sq m.

What is the IMWM first degree meteorological warning?

The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life.
