Although he did not win the format, his appearance in front of the cameras became a ticket to a great career. Szpak performed on Eurovisionand later we could watch him as a juror in the program for some time “The Voice of Poland”. In 2021, the media reported that Szpak would no longer judge the participants. – I was going into TVPwhen things were still normal, that was the turning point, when everything changed. When it went too far, it started to affect my morality – he explained the reason for leaving. It was recently revealed that Szpak will once again be a juror on “The Voice of Poland”. During a visit to the set, he gave an interview about his career and image.
Michał Szpak on his career. “I don't know if a hit is necessary for this…”
Michał Szpak spoke to Plejada about his work. The portal's journalist asked the singer how he reacts to comments from people who claim that he is “a wonderful personality who has not recorded hits for some time.” Szpak has a clear opinion on this subject.
I don't know if a hit is necessary to function. I'm constantly performing, I recorded the album “Nadwiślański mrok”, which is my emotional “vomit” collected from many elements. (…) For me, it's important to express emotions in music, not whether a song will be a hit or not. It doesn't define an artist and it doesn't define a musician whether he records hit compositions or not.
– said Michał Szpak. He added that he has no intention of putting pressure on himself and is not sitting at home. A photo of the singer from the set of “The Voice of Poland” can be found in the gallery at the top of the page.
Michał Szpak on Poles who criticize him. He received an invitation to a foreign festival
In the further part of the interview, Michał Szpak addressed the critical comments about his appearance. While there is a discussion in Poland about his stage image, foreign organizers invite him to perform. – Recently I even got a wonderful invitation, for which I am grateful, to a Latvian festival, the equivalent Sopot Festival, Opole. Here in Poland a huge controversy has arisen, that how is it possible, God, s*** on top, just some huge who knows what happened here, and there everyone has total freedom – he said.
The Plejada journalist probed the topic of negative comments. – So we still have some work to do? – she asked. Michał Szpak confirmed her words. – In terms of tolerance – absolutely. We are a society that is closed to a certain kind of artistry, trying to trivialize it, saying that someone is trying to draw attention to themselves with their image, distracting from the music – he concluded.
