North Korea fired a ballistic missile into the sea off the eastern coast of the Korean Peninsula on Sunday, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.

South Korea reported that the missile flew 800 kilometers before hitting a target off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula. The Japanese defense ministry added that the missile flew at an altitude of 50 kilometers.

Japan’s coast guard previously confirmed that a rocket fired by Pyongyang may have been a ballistic missile.

This is the second North Korean missile test this week. He carried out the previous regime on Thursday. In response, South Korea called a meeting of the National Security Council and “strongly condemned” the missile launch as a serious act of provocation that threatens international peace.
