Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was supposed to be among the Law and Justice politicians under surveillance by the special services supervised by Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik – RMF FM reported on Monday. “This information should be immediately verified by the prosecutor’s office in terms of the possibility of committing a crime by the people who decided to surveil the Prime Minister in the PiS government,” the MEP wrote in the application. “If this information were confirmed, we would have a situation without precedent on the scale of free Poland, unacceptable in any democratic country. Surveillance of the Prime Minister by the special services would indicate the use of special services and illegal equipment at the disposal of these services to conduct a factional fight within PiS. ” – added. Brejza noted that “Pegasus is an illegal espionage tool in Poland that cannot be used for operational control” and “any use of a tool with the Pegasus cyberweapon function is a criminal abuse of powers.” The KO politician requests the National Prosecutor’s Office to initiate an investigation into this matter.

Kamiński: it’s a gross fake

Mariusz Kamiński commented on RMF FM’s reports on the X website (formerly Twitter). “Another attempt to quarrel PiS. There was no surveillance of Prime Minister Morawiecki. This is a gross fakery. The current government is trying to cover its own incompetence and its illegal actions with lies. We will not allow ourselves to be destroyed. We will defend Polish affairs,” he wrote.

According to information from RMF FM, “agents were interested in Mateusz Morawiecki’s property”, especially real estate. Moreover – as we read in the article – “another issue is the contacts of the head of government with the Material Reserves Agency during the Covid-19 pandemic.” “Our interlocutors claim that some of the services’ activities did not directly concern the head of government. Morawiecki appeared in cases in which other people were under surveillance,” wrote RMF FM. “The services were also interested in Prime Minister Morawiecki’s assistants and their contacts. Our informants claim that it was not about procedural activities as part of investigations, but rather about collecting information. It was supposed to last at least a year and a half,” RMF FM reported.
