On Friday, an ambulance got stuck in a traffic jam at Aleje Jerozolimskie. The traffic jam was caused by activists from the Last Generation blocking the road. The capital police have published a recording of the incident and announce that it will be submitted for legal and criminal evaluation by the prosecutor's office.
Friday, April 26 was another day blockades organized by activists from the “Last Generation” initiative. In the morning, they briefly suspended traffic on the Świętokrzyski Bridge. Around noon, they protested at the intersection of Marszałkowska and Królewska streets in the center of Warsaw, and in the afternoon at Aleje Jerozolimskie near the Western Railway Station.
The recording was submitted to the prosecutor's office
The Capital Police Headquarters commented on the last of Friday's blockades on platform X. A recording was published showing a traffic jam on the Aleje Jerozolimskie viaduct. An ambulance got stuck in a traffic jam.
“In recent days, the police have undertaken quick and effective interventions while blocking the streets. In relation to the situation visible in the recording and the ambulance ride, the secured materials will be submitted for legal and criminal assessment by the prosecutor's office,” says the KSP press release.
“Expressing your views and opinions should not violate applicable law, much less pose a threat to the health or life of other people,” the entry states.

“We are on the highway to climate hell”
The Last Generation has been blocking bridges and roads in Warsaw for two weeks. On Saturday, two activists also stormed the horse racing track, stopping the season opening.
– Why do citizens have to block roads to be heard? We don't want to do this, but when the government ignores letters, petitions and demonstrations, it gives us no choice. Traffic disruptions can be frustrating and we apologize for them, but right now we are on the highway to climate hell and we need to stop immediately. Traffic jams are nothing compared to the destruction that the climate crisis will bring – says Michalina Czerwońska from the Last Generation, quoted in the release.
A few days ago we reported that activists stuck to the asphalt in the center of Warsaw. Activists from this organization are responsible for pouring over the Warsaw Mermaid monument paint and disruption of the concert at the National Philharmonic.
What does the Last Generation want?
The Last Generation is a citizens' campaign whose members want to force the government to start taking seriously the health and safety of citizens in times – as they say – at risk of climate collapse. They started operations in Poland at the beginning of March.
They then wrote a letter with demands to the Prime Minister. They demanded that 100 percent of the funds planned for new highways be transferred to public transport and the introduction of a monthly ticket for regional transport throughout the country for PLN 50. They gave Donald Tusk an ultimatum – to support them, they gave him time until the local elections on April 7. “The deadline has expired and the demands have remained unanswered. Therefore, the Last Generation has started the announced disruptions and will continue to do so until they are completed,” activists announced.
