The Dutch army will move through Polish territory on May 10-12, informed the General Staff of the Polish Army. About 800 soldiers and 200 military vehicles will take part in the march.
According to the General Staff of the Polish Army, as part of the NATO Steadfast Defender 2024 exercise, the armed forces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will move through the territory of Poland on May 10-12, going from Germany to Lithuania.
Dutch army in Poland
During these three days, the Dutch army will move from Oberlausitz in Germany to Kazla Rudza in Lithuania, of which the march through Poland will last two days. Battle group-sized forces will move in columns of 10 wheeled vehicles each. About 800 soldiers and 200 military vehicles will take part in the transfer.
The battle group is a joint unit consisting mainly of elements of the 13th Light Brigade from Oirschot, Netherlands. The basic vehicles of this brigade are Boxer, Fennek, Bushmaster, Mercedes Benz and Scania Gryphus combat vehicles. The convoys will be escorted by the Polish Military Police.
For the past few weeks, Dutch soldiers have been conducting exercises in Germany and will continue them in Lithuania. The exercises will end on May 29 in Pabrade, after which the entire force will return by ship to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Dutch army is practicing its ability to cover long distances and demonstrating the defense of NATO territory as part of the deterrence and defense of the Alliance, according to the General Staff of the Polish Army.
