In an interview with the pro-Kremlin Russian TASS agency, Marija Zakharova said that “Moscow did not invite ambassadors and officials from unfriendly countries to the Victory Parade.”
– Unfriendly countries were not invited to the parade for the third year. They were not invited in these years, starting from 2022, because the regimes in these countries pursue – let's put it as an unfriendly policy – but in fact they pursue an aggressive policy towards our country. They frame it as a task of strategic failure – said the spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As she added, the Russian Federation “formulates it as waging hybrid warfare.” TASS, quoting Maria Zakharova's statement, reported that the decision not to invite ambassadors and officials “does not apply to representatives of public organizations of veterans of the same hostile countries.”
Zakharova added that Russia would welcome “with open arms” those who “sacrificed their lives to preserve the memory of World War II.”
Kommersant emphasized that the following people were invited to the Victory Day celebrations: presidents BelarusUzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan.
