“Active Parent” is a proposal of the new government that will allow parents to choose how they want to provide care for young children. This is the fulfillment of the campaign promise of the so-called “granny”. The program is to help combine family life with work. Applications under this “Active Parent” program can be submitted from October 1, but the Social Insurance Institution is already preparing for this moment.
Half a million children will be able to benefit from the “Active Parent” program
– We will be ready to handle this task. Applications can only be submitted electronically from October 1, 2024 – said ZUS spokesman PaweÅ‚ Å»ebrowski, assuring that the act is being implemented in accordance with the previously adopted plan. According to the estimates of the Institution, over 570,000 children aged 1 to 3 will be able to benefit from the “Active Parent” program.
The program applies to parents and guardians of children aged between one and three. It introduces three types of benefits. It will be possible to receive one of them for the same child. The variants of the benefit depend on the type of care for the child.
What is the Active Parent program?
“Active parents at work” is 1,500 PLN for childcare, which will be received by working parents. As part of the “actively in a nursery” benefit, the state will cover the cost of a nursery, up to 1,500 PLN. This money will go directly to the account of the care institution. On the other hand, 500 PLN of the “actively at home” benefit will be received by parents who stay at home with their child. Parents of children with a disability certificate can count on 1,900 PLN per month.
ZUS is planning the first payments at the turn of November and December. The benefit will be paid by ZUS, and the application system itself is to be very similar to the one through which parents apply for 800 plus. Importantly, each form of support under the “Active Parent” program will be independent of 800 plus.
