The tractor driver ended up driving in a ditch and hit a tree. According to the police, he blew more than three permille. It also turned out that he did not have a driving license. He had previously lost his license for driving under the influence of alcohol.
On Tuesday, a few minutes after 5 p.m., a road accident occurred in Zdziwój Nowy (Przasnysz County). Two fire brigades and police arrived at the scene.
The police determined that a 28-year-old resident of the Przasnysz district, driving an agricultural tractor, lost control of the vehicle, drove into a ditch and hit a tree.
– A sobriety test of a 28-year-old man showed 3.2 per mille of alcohol in his body. Moreover, after checking the police database, it turned out that the man did not have a driving license – said Asp. Ilona Cichocka from the District Police Headquarters in Przasnysz. As she clarified, the 28-year-old had lost his license in the past for driving under the influence of alcohol.
As a result of his injuries, the tractor driver was transported to a nearby hospital.
He will appear in court
As the police announced, the man will soon appear in court and face the consequences of his behavior. – He will be responsible for driving under the influence of alcohol and despite the lack of driving license, as well as for causing a collision – Cichocka said.
“Alcohol, even in small amounts, leads to impaired visual perception, limits the field of vision, causes incorrect assessment of distance and speed, worsens coordination of movements, reduces reaction speed. Do not be a threat to yourself and other road users. If you have been drinking – do not drive” – appealed the policemen.
Officers remind that driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol is a crime that can result in imprisonment for three years, and if the perpetrator has previously been convicted of such an offense, even for five years.
