Radio Svoboda: Russia uses strategic bombers it received from Ukraine

Russia is using strategic bombers given to it 25 years ago by the authorities in Kiev to attack Ukraine, reported the Ukrainian section of Radio Svoboda, which conducted a journalistic investigation into the matter. The planes were transferred a quarter of a century ago to repay debts for Russian gas.

Journalists of the Schema (Schemes) project of the Ukrainian section of Radio Svoboda revealed that Ukraine she handed over Russia Tu-160 and Tu-95MS planes as repayment of debts for Russian gas. This happened under an intergovernmental agreement concluded in 1999.

Planes and half a thousand rockets

According to journalists, at least six Tu-160 and three Tu-95 planes, previously belonging to Ukraine, are currently in service with the Russian air force.

In addition to the planes, Russia was also supposed to receive over five thousand missiles, which are currently used to attack Ukraine.
