Radosław Sikorski: Hungary is blocking the start of talks about the entrance of Ukraine to the European Union

Radosław Sikorski reported in Brussels that Hungary is blocking the opening of accession talks with Ukraine. He turned to the Polish opposition to “convince his ideological kin” in Hungary to withdraw the veto.

As Sikorski said after a meeting of foreign ministers in Brussels, the accession process to the European Union is for Ukrainians “anchor morale of Ukrainian”. – As a presidency, we feel particularly responsible for this. We would like to open one, maybe the other negotiating cluster, but I regret to say that this is another matter in which our old friend, once ally, once an ally – Hungarian Republic – he said.

– It has fulfilled (at a meeting of ministers – ed.) A rather lively discussion that the condition of the decision to start negotiations should not depend on bilateral matters, but on the fulfillment of the criteria – noted Sikorski.

Sikorski: I have to turn to the Polish opposition

– I have to ritually turn to the Polish opposition, which maintains close ideological contacts with the government and the party of Viktor Orban, that they would like something good for Poland, to do Europe – namely to convince their ideological kinsmen to unlock these issues – he said.

– The more urgent it is because I hear about the Hungarian initiative with the Polish Ordo Iuris organization about the fact that, as part of the Think Tank in Washington, Heritage Foundation, from there to advise American administration on how to dismantle Europe – added the head of Polish diplomacy.

– I would like to ask the Polish opposition what they think about this initiative, whether this serves Polish interests, for the European Union to be paralyzed, reduced to only a group of mutual discussions – added the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
