Rzeszów. This year, Kas detected smuggling over 42,000 e-cigarettes

In the first two months of this year, the Tax Administration Chamber in Rzeszów intercepted over 42,000 pieces of e-cigarettes and over 300 liters of fluid for these stimulants. Increasingly, these stimulants are smuggled in packages sent to our country.

“E -cigarettes and all accessories for these products are largely disclosed within the country, i.e. outside of border crossings,” said spokeswoman for the Tax Administration Chamber in Rzeszów Podkom. Edyta Chabowska.

“More and more often this new type of stimulants is smuggled in packages sent to our country,” she added.

Parcels with illegal fluid for e-cigarettes

This is how the officers of the Tax Administration Chamber have recently detected smuggling 8,000 packages of electronic cigarettes during shipping inspection in one of the sorting plants in Podkarpacie. They detected 40 packages with illegal e-cigarette fluid. Each contained 200 packaging.

“The liquid was packed in plastic containers with a capacity of 30 ml. The officers secured a total of 8,000 packages containing 240,000 ml of liquid,” she said.

They detained two Ukrainian citizens in this matter. One of them heard the allegation of bringing goods from abroad to the territory of the country without fulfilling the customs obligation. The 36-year-old is threatened with a high fine.

If the detected goods went to illegal sale, the state budget would lose nearly 353 thousand. zloty. due to unpaid customs and tax duties.

Another such smuggling

During earlier control of postal parcels, officers of the Podkarpackie Customs and Tax Office found 12.4 thousand fluids for e-cigarettes, and their actions on the property in the Przemyśl poviat led to the detection of another 26.7 thousand. fluids for e-cigarettes and 42 thousand electronic cigarettes.

Budget depletions, which the Podkarpackie KAS prevented in the first two months of 2025, detecting electronic cigarettes and e-cigarette fluids, exceeded PLN 1.7 million.
