Celine Dion criticized Donald Trump and his vice presidential candidate JD Vance for using her song “My Heart Will Go On” at a Republican rally without authorization. In a post published on her profile, she also asked ironically: seriously, this song?” The song is best known from the movie “Titanic” about the tragic sinking of the ship.
The Canadian artist posted on her X account on Saturday: “Today, Celine Dion's management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized use of the video, recording, musical performance and likeness of Celine Dion singing 'My Heart Will Go On' at the Donald Trump/JD Vance campaign rally in Montana.”
As we read in the release, “such use of the song is not authorized and Celine Dion does not support such actions.”
“Seriously, this song?”
At the end of the message it added: “…and seriously, THAT song?”
“My Heart Will Go On” is best known as a song from the soundtrack of James Cameron's 1997 film Titanic.
It is a moving and dramatic story that ends in disaster. The film is based on a true historical event – the sinking of the British ship “Titanic” on its maiden voyage from Great Britain to USA.
