The sound sleep of a man wanted on an arrest warrant was interrupted by police officers in Skarżysko-Kamienna (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship). When the officers entered the room by force, the 40-year-old was lying covered with a blanket. He claimed he was asleep.
They knocked and called, but no one opened the door. Police officers in Skarżysko-Kamienna, certain that the 40-year-old man who had been wanted for two years on an arrest warrant, had returned to his apartment, went to the place where they met the man's relatives on Monday (June 17). However, they did not find him himself – but they located the room he probably used.
He claimed to be a “tough sleeper”
“However, the door to the room was locked. The law enforcement officers were sure that a 40-year-old man was inside. Multiple calls to open the room and loud knocking on the door were of no avail. The man, wanting to keep his freedom, pretended that he was not there until the end. peace,” said the press officer of the Skarżysko police, Assistant Commissioner Jarosław Gwóźdź, in a statement.
The officers broke the lock to get inside. They found an unusual sight there – the wanted man lying on a bed and covered with a blanket. As can be seen in the video recorded by the police camera, the 40-year-old did not show any signs of life for a moment, but after one of the officers turned on the light, he jumped to his feet.

“Pretending to be surprised by the situation, the resident of Skarżysko explained that he had a very sound sleep and did not hear the presence of policemen. He did not resist and was taken to a police custody cell,” Gwóźdź said.
On Monday, the man was sent to prison, where he will spend the next 14 months. As we read in the announcement from the Skarżysko police, the 40-year-old was convicted of burglary.
