Slovenia – floods. Ukraine will send a helicopter as aid, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said

For several days Slovenia has been struggling with the effects of flash floods. Ukraine, among others, offered its help to the country struggling with the element. The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleh Nikolenko, said that “the Ukrainian side will make every effort to support friends and partners who have found themselves in a difficult situation.” As he stated, a Ukrainian helicopter will be sent to Slovenia to participate in search and rescue operations.

Slovenia has experienced heavy rainfall in recent days, which has caused extensive damage. As reported on Monday by the Slovenian portal Metropolitan, six people died as a result of flooding in the country.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko wrote that “in connection with the large-scale floods that covered almost two-thirds of Slovenian territory, Ukraine is ready to provide this country with humanitarian assistance in the fight against the effects of a natural disaster by sending a Ukrainian helicopter to participate in search and rescue operations.”

“Within its capabilities, the Ukrainian side will make every effort to support friends and partners who find themselves in a difficult situation, just as they stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian people, helping us to repel Russian aggression,” added Nikolenko.

On Sunday, the president of Ukraine expressed solidarity with Slovenia, which is struggling with floods Volodymyr Zelensky.

“I extend my sincere condolences to friendly Slovenia for the ongoing flooding, which has already caused large-scale destruction and casualties. I wish all those affected a speedy recovery, overcoming the effects of the disaster and rebuilding homes and infrastructure,” he wrote on Twitter.

On Monday, the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarczic, announced that aid was coming to Slovenia from France and Germany. He also called on the entire European community to react to the devastating effects of the element.
