Sopot police arrested a 48-year-old man who had been driving drunk 16 years ago. The man had come from Germany to get married. It didn't work out, because according to the verdict of the District Court in Gdynia, he was taken to jail to serve a five-month prison sentence.
In 2008, a Sopot resident wanted by the police drove a car in Gdynia while intoxicated. The court sentenced him to five months in prison for this crime, and in 2012 an arrest warrant was issued for him.
At the end of July, the police established that the current residents of Germany the man came to Sopot to get married and they “surprised” him at his place of residence. The 48-year-old did not hide his surprise at seeing them.
– The grill was on, the family was there, but the wanted man was not allowed to celebrate with them. The man was detained and after spending a night in a police cell, he was taken to the detention center – informed the Provincial Police Headquarters in GdaÅ„sk.
According to the verdict of the District Court in Gdynia, he is to serve a five-month prison sentence for a crime committed sixteen years ago.
