A woman fell into a septic tank in Stryków (Łódź Voivodeship). Despite resuscitation, she could not be saved. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office. – Even looking into such tanks is dangerous. Methane and hydrogen sulfide accumulate there, which cause a decrease in oxygen concentration, which can lead to loss of consciousness, firefighters remind.
The incident took place in the evening of May 16 on one of the properties at Warszawska Street in Stryków (Zgierz district). The services received a report about a person who fell into a backyard septic tank.
– A woman in her 60s was evacuated from a backyard septic tank by firefighters. Firefighters performed resuscitation until the arrival of the emergency medical team. Unfortunately, the doctor who arrived at the scene pronounced the woman dead – said junior brigadier Jędrzej Pawlak, press officer of the Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service in Łódź.
