There has been an intense rain in Peru recently. A tragic event occurred in the province of Chanchamayo, where three workers were killed as a result of a landslide.
At least three people died as a result of the landslide in the Peruvian province of Chanchamayo, in the Junin region, famous for its coffee plantation. The tragedy took place on Monday. According to local media, fatalities are workers who, with the help of heavy equipment, tried to remove the effects of a mud avalanche that had gone there earlier. However, employees were surprised by another landslide. Together with the machines, they fell from about 150 meters into the abyss and were covered with heaps of land. In recent days, the search for bodies lasted – they were all found.
In the meantime, heavy rains in the city of Puno flooded several streets, leading to difficulties in the functioning of schools.
Extreme rain in the last 48 hours has also left the destructive landscape in many locations in the ORURILLO district in the province of Melgar, where large areas of arable fields have been flooded.
