Protecting professions from AI: Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-B±k announced creation catalog of protected professions against influence artificial intelligencefor some activities to be reserved only for humans. She indicated that it should be protected creative professionsthat affect cultural heritage and language. The ministry is conducting consultations on this matter and will assess which professions and industries should be protected against the influence of AI – says “Journal Newspaper Legal”.

What professions and industries can be included in the catalogue? Łukasz Łaguna, lawyer, head of the HR & LegalTech department at BKB Baran Książek Bigaj, believes that the idea of ​​the ministry may contribute, among others, to: down slowdown in technological progress and loss of global competitiveness. He assessed that government should focus on retraining programs that help employees adapt to the changing labor market. Łukasz Łaguna added that if such a catalog of protected professions is created, the list may include, among others: psychotherapists, nurses and teachersand even entire industries, including education, health care, culture or justice.

AI could impact these professions: The Polish Economic Institute noted in November in its report titled “AI on the Polish labor market” that artificial intelligence will have a significant impact on 3.68 million people working in 20 professions. Professions requiring higher qualifications and specialists will be particularly susceptible to AI, including: financiers, lawyers and programmers. The co-author of the publication, Ignacy Święcicki, head of the digital economy team at PIE, explained that the implementation of solutions based on artificial intelligence will force changes in the way of working.
