George Foreman was one of the most outstanding boxers in heavyweight history. In 1968 he reached for the Olympic gold medal in heavyweight at the Games in Mexico. On the way to this triumph, he defeated Lucjan Trela 4-1 in the first round of the Pole.

A year later he switched to professionalism, and for the first time after the world championship he reached in January 1973, when he defeated Joe Frazier in the second round ahead of time. In 1977, Foreman ended his career to return to the ring ten years later at the age of 38. It led him to the next one fights for the world championship in November 1994 with Michael Moorer. “Big George” lost to points, but in the tenth round he knocked his rival a powerful right straight and won the IBF federation belt. Then he became the oldest world champion in the history of professional boxing at the age of 45. – It happened! He shouted, commenting on Jim Lampley at HBO.
Bernard Hopkins took this record in 2011 when he reached for the championship at the age of 46 in light heavyweight. Foreman, however, remains the oldest champion in the royal history of the royal category. He ended his career in 1997 with an impressive 76-5, 68 record KO.

With deep sadness we announce the departure of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr., who passed away in peace on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A pious preacher, a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather and great grandfather lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humble and goal,” they said.
