The railway returns after 30 years: – We restore Łomża to the Polish railway map. After 30 years, passenger trains will come back here – said infrastructure minister Dariusz Klimczak. On Tuesday (22 April) representatives PKP Polish Railway Lines signed a contract for almost PLN 300 million with the contractor of works on the Łomża – Śniadowo – Łapy route. The use of the station is to be possible already during the investment – a year after the start of work in 2026, the whole will end in 2029. In addition to occasional courses, the last passenger train left Łomża in 1993.
What will PKP build? As part of the investment, the railway line No. 49 Łomża – Śniadowo will be modernized primarily. It will be 17 km, on which Track tracks and control devices will be replaced. There are plans to rebuild the station in Łomża and the passenger stop in Koziki. There will also be two new stops: Śniadowo Łącznica and Konarzyce on line 36: Breakfast-Waps (about 60 km of lines). Kulesze Kościelne and Czachy Kołaki and Sokoły station will also be modernized there.

We want residents to be able to use trains as soon as possible, which is why we will allow them during the work, as early as next year – emphasized Dariusz Klimczak. The ministry argues that nAnd the investment will gain both 60,000 residents of Łomżaas well as municipalities located along the railway route. PLK SA is to prepare the infrastructure, which will be used by the regional carrier financed by the local government, and long -distance trains will return.
