Storms swept across Poland on Saturday. Firefighters intervened almost 390 times, most often in the Silesian province. In Kikity in the Olsztyn district (Warmia-Masuria), a tree fell on a shelter under which three people were, the injured woman was taken to hospital.
Firefighters across the country recorded a total of 387 incidents caused by the passing atmospheric front by 8:45 p.m. – the State Fire Service reported. The most interventions were by firefighters from the Silesian province, where they went out 145 times. Several dozen interventions were in Dąbrowa Górnicza alone
The reports mainly concerned flooded streets and properties, as well as broken trees that fell on, among other things, parked cars. No one was injured in the storms.
Firefighters intervened 52 times to remove the effects stormwhich passed over part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship on Saturday. Most of the incidents involved the removal of branches and trees broken by the wind.
In Kikity in Olsztyn district, a tree fell on a shelter under which three people were. – A woman with a head injury was taken to hospital by the medical rescue team, the other two people only suffered minor abrasions – said the press officer of the municipal PSP headquarters in Olsztyn Senior Captain Kamil Kulas.
Sunday was another day with storms. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued a second-degree warning for almost the entire country.
