The court building is guarded by hundreds of armed policemen from prevention departments, imported by buses. Armored vehicles were set up at the police barriers separating the court complex from the street. Roads leading to court were temporarily closed.
Ozgur Ozel, the leader of the opposition republican People's Party, called on Friday the inhabitants of Istanbul to gather the next day in court.
