British media reported Sunday that the man and his three sons, whose bodies were found a day earlier in their home in Staines-upon-Thames, southwest of London, were Polish. Police said there was no third party involvement in their deaths.
Officers found the bodies at around 1.15pm local time on Saturday. Surrey Police confirmed the three boys – all under the age of four – were related to the man and said at this stage of the investigation they believed it was an isolated incident with no third party involved.
Because formal identification of the body has not yet been carried out, police have not released any personal details.
The police said the immediate family, including the boys' mother, had been informed of the incident and were receiving psychological care. Given the officers' earlier contact with the family, the IOPC, an independent body that oversees police actions, was informed.
