Kiev military intelligence has reported an attack on an ammunition depot in Russia's Voronezh region. The facility was storing artillery shells and surface-to-air missiles, among other things.
Ukrainian intelligence reported that drones attacked a field ammunition depot in the town of Ostorozhsk in the Voronezh region.
Artillery and tank shells, ammunition and surface-to-air missiles were stored at the military facility, the intelligence reported, adding that there was a total of over five thousand tons of ammunition there.
“The detonation is ongoing,” we read in Saturday's interview on the Telegram channel. The service also published a recording that is supposed to confirm that the impact occurred.
Fire and detonation
On Saturday morning, Voronezh Oblast Governor Aleksandr Gusev reported the “shooting down of five enemy drones over the region.” The official said that shrapnel from the downed drone caused a fire that caused the explosive charges to detonate.
In three villages near the ammunition depot, state of emergencyfrom one about 200 residents were evacuated – Gusev wrote on the Telegram channel.
In late June, Ukrainian forces attacked field ammunition depot in the Olkhovets district of the Voronezh region. At that time, military intelligence in Kiev reported that “a fire broke out with detonations, which spread over an area of 3,500 square meters.”
