Milwaukee Police in USA reported that on Monday, near the Republican National Convention, it arrested a man who was concealing a firearm in a “tactical” backpack.
The report said officers noticed a man who looked suspicious, wearing ski goggles and a large tactical backpack. When asked by officers if he had a firearm, he denied it and informed them that he could be searched. During the search of the backpack, one of the agents “immediately noticed a concealed AK-47 rifle.”
The man also had ammunition, a mask from the movie “Scream”, two cans of spray paint, a flashlight, rubber gloves, two phones, a shirt from one of the security companies and empty bags of marijuana, CNN reported.
The 21-year-old did not have a concealed carry permit, authorities said. He was arrested about two blocks from the Fiserv Forum area, which was under traffic control for the Republican National Convention. He faces up to nine months in prison and a $10,000 fine.
The arrest came two days after the former president Donald Trump was attacked during an election rally.
