The Przemyśl diocese announced the papal nomination on its website on Monday.
Rev. Prelate Dr. Kryspin Dubiel was born in 1973 in Nowa Sarzyna in the Podkarpacie region. He comes from the parish of the Annunciation of the Lord in Leżajsk. He also finished high school there and passed his matriculation exam.
In Przemyśl, from 1992 to 1998, he attended theological seminary. He was ordained a priest in May 1998. He then continued his studies at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. In 2003, he obtained academic title of doctor.
Angola. A Pole is the new apostolic nuncio
The Przemyśl diocese recalled that Fr. Dubiel is also a graduate of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome.
The new apostolic nuncio in Angola has experience at work in the diplomatic service. In the past he represented Vatican including Rwanda, Colombia, Poland, Sloveniain the Philippines and Belarus. Father Kryspin Dubiel knows several foreign languages: Italian, Spanish, English and Russian.
The Angolan apostolic nunciature is located in the capital, the city of Luanda. From 1975 to 1997, the See of Peter was represented in this African country by apostolic delegates. Then the rank was raised by establishing a nunciature.. Before Fr. Dubiel, the function of Vatican envoy in Angola was held by, among others, Italians, a Spaniard, a Tanzanian and a Croatian.
