On Thursday, the candidate for the US president Kamala Harris met with the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. The current vice president said her support for Kiev remains unwavering.
Harris added that the United States “must uphold the international order and norms.” She explained that her country's support remains constant because it is in its “strategic interest.”
Kamala Harris mentioned Poland. She pointed to Putin
In her speech, Kamala Harris also touched on Poland's security. – History has shown us that if we allow aggressors to take over land with impunity, they will continue to act, and Putin may turn to Poland, the Baltic states and other NATO allies – she argued.
Harris said that other “potential aggressors” in the world are watching Putin's actions and the war in Ukraine. She believed that if the Russian dictator triumphed, he would only “embolden” the rest. Therefore, she assured that US aid is not their charitable support, but a well-thought-out “strategic” action.
During her speech, the candidate for the US presidential office also assured that she would work to ensure that Ukraine triumphs in the war.
“Proposals of capitulation, not peace.” Harsh words from the US Vice President
Harris also emphasized that there are proposals that would mean giving up a large part of Ukraine's sovereign territory proposals of capitulation, not peace. “There are those in my country who would force Ukraine to give up large parts of its sovereign territory, who demand that Ukraine accept neutrality and who will require Ukraine to abandon security arrangements with other nations,” she said.
Thus, she referred to the plans submitted by the Republican candidates for president and vice president – Donald Trump i JD Vance’a – regarding the end of the war in Ukraine. These will assume the giving of part of Ukrainian territory to Russia.
– Nothing about ending the war can be decided without Ukraine – Harris added.
