As Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk regional government, said on Sunday, the attack took place “in the middle of the night”.

– The target of the attack was a hotel in the city – currently it is known that two people are injured and one person is under the rubble – the official said about the incident.

Filashkin added that the journalists were citizens of Great Britain, the United States and Ukraine, and that a search operation for one of the missing was underway.

Apart from the hotel a nearby skyscraper was also damaged.

Attack on Kramatorsk. Journalist from Poland injured

Polish war correspondent Monika Andruszewska was also injured in the attack on Kramatorsk. The journalist was not staying at the hotel that was hit by gunfire, but was driving through the city.

“This is what any possible person could look like, anywhere in Ukraine, wherever the Russians decide to strike with a missile,” she wrote, posting a photo of her injuries.

Kramatorsk is the last major city in the Donbas region still under Ukrainian control. It is located about 20 kilometers from the front line.

The city had a population of around 150,000 before the Russian invasion in February 2022, but has been the target of repeated attacks since then.
