As Biometeorologist IMGW Grzegorz Kaliński explained, there will be less oxygen in the warmer air, which can cause, among others A feeling of drowsiness. However, there are ways to fight the negative effects of warming.

According to the forecast prepared by the synoptic tvnmeteo.pl, Arleta Unton-Pyziołek, the mass of warm air from the south will push over Poland over the weekend, which will push the cold over the country. Already on Sunday, values ​​on thermometers will increase locally to 22 degrees Celsius, and in the following days the heat will embrace further regions.

Sunny, but sleepy

Biometeorologist IMGW Dr. Grzegorz Kaliński explained that at the weekend we will quickly go from the cool beginning of spring with a negative thermal anomaly to a positive anomaly. He explained “it is worth remembering that the weather situation is not always what it looks like at first glance.” The aura will be more sunny, which positively affects the mood, but warmer air, rarer than the cool, weight contains less oxygen. In such conditions, the feelings of drowsiness, as well as the delayed response time to stimuli should be expected.

“Recreation before a sudden weather change will reduce the adverse impact on our mood,” said Dr. Kaliński. “In order to stimulate the action, we can drink strong tea or coffee, and in the end you can try a short 20 -minute nap, so much that it would first be longer than the up to half an hour, because it will disturb our circular rhythm and secondly – so that it is not too late, i.e. not in the late and afternoon hours, because in the evening it may make it difficult to fall asleep” – he added.

Balance above all

The expert explained that each person reacts in a different way to changing weather conditions and has a different sensitivity to weather changes. “It can be like this if a person is healthy, athletic, exposes himself to the weather, i.e., for example, he practices a profession that requires him to be in the open air, is hardened, then his body is accustomed to changes in weather conditions and all rapid temperature changes can go asymptomatic” – he said. “At the average Polish inhabitant, sudden weather changes can cause meteorotropic symptoms, e.g. in the form of deteriorated well -being or headache, and only in extreme cases they can end with a health event” – he explained.

“Of course, the older the body is, it is in a worse health, mental and physical condition, the greater the likelihood that it will feel the adverse effect of the weather on health and well -being, i.e. some meteorotropic symptoms will occur” – admitted Kaliński. He explained that “there is scientific research indicating that a sudden cooling caused, for example, by the influx of frosty, arctic air mass is conducive to heart attacks because blood viscosity increases, i.e. blood simply becomes denser.” “It should be remembered that these are extreme cases,” he added.

“We are warm -blooded beings and our organisms have it to function properly, they must maintain homeostasis, or internal balance, so that all physiological and chemical processes, in our bodies, are the most effective” – ​​said a biometeorologist. “Violent temperature changes of course have an impact on us – our reactions are the greater the faster the change is and the greater the change. For our organisms, it would be best, as if the changes were gradually taking place, and our body had time to adapt, i.e. adapt to these changing conditions” – he concluded.
