In Warsaw's Old Town, passersby alerted city guards to an unconscious woman lying by an escalator. Officers rushed to help the 47-year-old, who, as it turned out, had a seriously injured hand.
On Sunday, city guards patrolling the Old Town were approached by passers-by asking for help. They reported that at the entrance to the escalator from the WZ route, they noticed a woman lying down who appeared to be unconscious. The officers went to the indicated location.
– A 47-year-old woman was lying stretched out at the entrance with her head resting against the wall. After she was revived, we asked her if she remembered what had happened. The woman replied that she felt weak and sat down against the wall. She pointed to her right hand wrapped in a scarf – said inspector Agnieszka OjrzyÅ„ska, who, together with inspector Domino ChrzÄ…szcz, helped the woman, as quoted in the press release.
Fresh wound on hand
The guards unrolled a makeshift dressing. Three fingers and a large part of the hand were badly burned. They assessed that the tissue damage must have occurred recently. “We applied a special gel to the burn, which is used to soothe burn wounds, and put a sterile dressing on the hand,” the officer added.
The injured woman felt better. She firmly refused the offer to call an ambulance. Therefore, the guards recommended that the 47-year-old see a doctor, because the wound required further observation.
