Whale in the Gulf of Gdańsk. He was feeding 17 kilometers from the port

17 kilometers from the port of Gdańsk, anglers noticed a whale. – We were already returning to the port. And suddenly a colleague says he saw the fountain at sea. We swam there, turned off the engines and 400 meters from us we heard “Pouf pouf pouf”. The whale dived, disappeared for a few minutes and again “pouf”, emerged for breath. And so five times, each time 200-400 meters away from us – said Piotr Larbi.

The angler Piotr Larbi organizes cruises on the Baltic Sea so that they can admire seals and porpoises. On Thursday in the Gulf of Gdańsk, 17 kilometers from the mouth of the Wisła Śmiała, he saw and recorded a whale.

– It was a fishing cruise, we were already returning to the port – says Larbi in a conversation with us. – And suddenly a colleague says he saw the fountain at sea. We swam there, turned off the engines and 400 meters from us we heard the pouf pouf pouf. The whale dived, disappeared for a few minutes and again the pouf, emerged for breath. And so five times, each time 200 – 400 meters away from us. He wandered, it looked like feeding.

The exhausts, i.e. the so -called fountains according to the description of the angler, were over five meters. “It was at a depth of 60 m. And under us a lot of huge shoals of small fish. The whale showed us 5 times. The sight is amazing. Our Baltic is amazing!” – describes Larbi, the owner of the portal RejsynaFoki.eu.
