It snowed heavily in southern Norway. Record snowfall was recorded in the Disen district of Oslo, the country's capital. Over 30 centimeters of snow fell there in 24 hours.

Heavy snowfall hit the southern regions of Norway earlier this week. As much as 30 centimeters of snow fell in places. The roads became very slippery. There were several accidents on the section connecting Karihaugen with Furuset on Wednesday, Oslo police reported.

– The cars skidded. We encourage drivers to adjust their speed to the prevailing conditions and keep their eyes open, said Kristine Bryntesen Hedly, a police officer in Oslo.

Record rainfall

Record snowfall was recorded in the Disen district of Oslo, the capital of Norway, on Tuesday. 30.7 centimeters of snow fell there in 24 hours. “Such rainfall has not been recorded in Disen since 1998,” said Unni Nilssen, a Norwegian meteorologist.

The heaviest snowfall in Oslo's recorded history was recorded in the Blindern area. In 1995, as much as 35.5 cm of snow fell there. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute reports that snow will continue in Oslo until Thursday.
