They were supposed to fly from Warsaw to Turkey for a vacation. Instead, they landed in Poland again. Due to a technical problem, the plane was redirected to the Wrocław airport.
The incident took place late on Sunday evening.
– The plane that flew from Warsaw to Turkeydue to a fault, had to land in Wrocław. It was not an emergency landing, it was a standard procedure. Passengers are already on board the plane and will continue their journey in a moment – says Bartosz Wiśniewski, spokesman for Wrocław Airport, in an interview with tvn24.pl.
The airport did not provide the number of passengers who were to fly to Turkey. The plane finally left Wroclaw the next day at 12:22.
Passengers spent the night at the airport
According to the passenger, Mr. Ernest, the passengers spent over 16 hours at the airport. They slept in chairs and wheelchairs that they borrowed. The operator only told them that “if they wanted accommodation in a hotel” they had to arrange it themselves, so they stayed at the airport.
