Legia Warszawa dreams of regaining the Polish championship, which has not been seen in the capital since 2021. After 18 rounds played, the capital club is only 4th in the league table. It is six points behind first-place Lech, four behind second-place Raków and three behind third-place Jagiellonia. Cracovia was one point less than Goncalo Feio's team. The fight for the title should be exciting.

Legia's problem? The leader can leave

Fans are eagerly awaiting Legia's transfer moves. The Warsaw team was sluggish on the market for a long time, but finally the first player was brought in – Vahan Bichakhchyan, a player who had previously played for Pogoń.

However, it is worth remembering that transfers are not only incoming movements. There are players in the club whose contracts will expire soon. One of them is Paweł Wszołek. His contract will expire on June 30. The player played in 17 out of 18 league matches in the fall. He scored two goals and provided three assists. He added two goals and one last pass in the Conference League, in which Legia still competes. What will his future be?

– Everyone knows that my contract is coming to an end. Everyone also realizes that theoretically I could now sign a contract with someone valid from July 1. Talks with the club are ongoing. I feel great at Legia Warszawa and I achieved my greatest successes playing here. I feel great in this place. I can even say that I love them, but… I can't wait until March, April, May or June to make a decision. I know my value and I have a lot of questions – said Wszołek in a conversation with Piotr Kamieniecki from TVP Sport.

– I hope that the contract situation will be resolved as soon as possible. If you don't know your future, it's not the easiest thing for a footballer's mind. I try to show my quality on the pitch and help the team a lot. This is true regardless of the subject of the contract. I try to be myself during every training and match. The contract is valid until June. And what will happen? Time will tell – admitted the player.

Paweł Wszołek will turn 33 in April. He has been playing for Legia continuously since July 2022. This is his second adventure in the colors of the Warsaw club, where he played 190 times and scored 35 goals. He also made 47 assists. Wszołek is also a 14-time representative of Poland. He scored two goals in the red and white colors.
