Unknown perpetrators intercepted the transmission signal of several television channels in the Russian-occupied Crimea and played a recording about the Ukrainian armed forces, said Serhiy Bratchuk, spokesman for the Odessa administration. According to information published in social media, it is a spot showing Ukrainian soldiers and recommending keeping silent about the preparations for a counter-offensive.
“In the temporarily occupied Crimea, including Sevastopol, the transmission of several TV channels was hacked and a recording about the Armed Forces was played on them Ukraine” – wrote on Sunday a representative of the Odessa administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, on Telegram.
According to information published in social media, it is a spot showing Ukrainian soldiers recommending silence and suggesting the approach of the announced counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas occupied by the Russians.
The video itself was posted on Twitter by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov on Sunday.
“Plans like silence” – such a slogan appears at the end of the recording. And then: “There will be no announcement of the beginning.”
Television operators began to turn off the signal
A recording appeared on social media showing how TV channels broadcast a call from Ukrainian soldiers to the public to maintain information silence before the counteroffensive, Dzerkało Tyznia reported. Later, TV operators began to turn off the signal.
