As citizens, we have the right to know who is an important person in the life of any presidential candidate – said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski after the court's judgment in the case of Patryk Masiak, known as “Great BU”. It is about the matter of Senator Ko's statement about the criminal past of the MMA player.
Key facts:
- Patryk Masiak pseud. “Wielki BU” sued the senator of KO Krzysztof Kwiatkowski for his statements reminding him of the conviction by the court for criminal acts.
- On Tuesday, the court ruled in the case.
- – Until now, we were not dealing with a situation in which former criminals tried to close the lips of politicians who told the truth – noted Kwiatkowski after the court's judgment.
Words of Senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, which became the basis of the lawsuit, fell in the context of the knowledge of Masiak with Nawrocki – the president of the Institute of National Remembrance and the candidate PIS For president. Masiak accused the senator that he violated his personal rights and demanded apologizing and PLN 50,000. Masia also submitted an application for securing the claim. It was to consist in the fact that for a year Kwiatkowski could not speak for a year in the media about Masiak's past.
In January, the District Court in Łódź dismissed the application for securing the claim, and on Tuesday dismissed the claim. The court decided that Kwiatkowski did not violate Masiak's personal rights and charged the MMA player with the costs of over PLN 4.3 thousand. The verdict is not final.
After the court's ruling, Kwiatkowski admitted that this is a good day for democracy and “citizens who have the right to know about public figures as much as possible.”
– The court rejected the action of Patryk Masiak, or “the Great BU”, who demanded that I be silent about his and his relationship with Karol NawrockiPiS candidate for president. Let me not talk about their many years of acquaintance – knowledge of Karol Nawrocki with a criminal convicted of kidnapping a woman – he added.
– We, as citizens, have the right to know who is an important person in the life of any presidential candidate. As citizens, we have the right to know why Karol Nawrocki met with Patryk Masiak, he invited him to his office as the president of the Institute of National Remembrance, because there is a reasonable belief that he would invite him to the presidential palace the same if he was elected president – said Kwiatkowski.
Kwiatkowski about the acquaintances of Nawrocki: This is not just “Great BU”
In turn, on Wednesday, Kwiatkowski reminded that among the friends of the PiS candidate there are also other people in the past convicted of criminal acts. – This is not just “Big BU”. This is the so -called “herring”, it is “Olo”, they are people convicted of kidnapping women, for arms trade, for relationships with Tri -City gangs – he mentioned.
He also asked questions. – Did “Wielki BU” try to close my mouth at the request of Karol Nawrocki? Did Patryk Masiak agree with Karol Nawrocki? Why did Patryk Masiak, “the Great BU”, support Karol Nawrocki, joining the presidential campaign? What connects Karol Nawrocki with the so -called “herring”, i.e. a person who spent several years in prisons, who, among others, flashes with his sympathy and his Nazi views? – asked Kwiatkowski.
The senator noticed that Masiak did not appear in court. – Patryk Masiak escaped from Poland, he was represented by a lawyer. The law firm, it was she who had an action in this respect on bizarre terms, because so far we were not dealing with a situation in which the former criminals tried to close the lips of politicians who told the truth – emphasized Kwiatkowski.
“Wielki BU” visiting Karol Nawrocki
In May 2024, Masiak took a picture with Nawrocki at the National Education Office of the Institute of National Remembrance and published it on social media. The signature was “it was hard not to use the invitation, so since I was in the capital anyway, I came to see how Karol heads in this institution.”
In turn, in August last year, he published a photo with Nawrocki at a cafe table with the signature: “Takh with the president of the Institute of National Remembrance on a coffee. It is always good to listen to the wise”.

Judge Katarzyna Wesołowska-Zbudniewek decided on Tuesday that such a violation did not occur, because Patryk Masiak is a public figure, indirectly got involved in the election campaign, and Kwiatkowski's statement “did not go beyond the limits of acceptable criticism or exceeded the measure of public discourse”.
Nawrocki, whose passion is boxing, said last fall “Rzeczpospolita” that Masiak met several years ago in the boxing room, they fought “with each other in the sports formula: officially, in the boxing room, among many other players”, and later they did not see many years. He added that he would not be “to criminal issues” and that he has no idea about them. In turn, in the post on the platform X Nawrocki wrote, among others, that “he values his opponents from the ring for taking up a fight, but he is not responsible for their non -sport life.”
