I will continue to process the application for the State Tribunal for the President of the NBP, Adam Glapiński, in accordance with the law. I will not implement the resolution sent to us by Julia Przyłębska, said the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia. He emphasized that “by issuing this decision, the Constitutional Tribunal clearly exceeded its powers.”

At a press conference in the Sejm, Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia spoke, among other things, about the motion to bring the President of the NBP, Adam Glapiński, before the State Tribunal. – I received a copy of the decision of the Constitutional Tribunal of April 17. A freezing provision, which is called self-protecting, and its conclusion is as follows: neither the Speaker of the Sejm, nor the Sejm, nor any of the committees, nor anyone in this building has the right to touch, deal with or do anything at all with the application for the State Tribunal for Adam Glapiński – he said. – Why? Because it is strictly prohibited by the Constitutional Tribunal of Mrs. Julia Przyłębska. Why? Because the Court prohibits it, he added.

– I cannot imagine a situation in which someone would illegally interfere with the competences and constitutional rights of the Sejm. Therefore, I am informing you that I will not implement the decision sent to us by Mrs. Julia Przyłębska. I will continue to process the motion to bring President Glapiński before the State Tribunal in accordance with the law, Hołownia announced.
