Three fire brigades extinguished a house fire in Słuchów (Pomeranian Voivodeship). The fire was brought under control. Firefighters also rescued a cat who was poisoned by carbon monoxide.
On Wednesday, February 22, around 9 o’clock, a fire appeared in the kitchen of a single-family building in Słuchów. According to Capt. Krzysztof Minga, press officer of the Poviat Commander of the State Fire Service in Puck, first the hood started to burn.
Two hosts from the Volunteer Fire Brigade from Wierzchucin and one host from the Rescue and Fire Fighting Unit from Puck took part in the firefighting operation. Firefighters secured the site and located the source of the fire. As a result of the fire, the kitchen burned down and the entire building was blackened.
– After extinguishing the burning kitchen equipment, the building was ventilated and the other rooms were checked with a thermal imaging camera. Then the burned elements outside the building were removed.

During the firefighting operations, firefighters found a carbon monoxide-poisoned, blackened cat, which was given medical assistance by administering oxygen. According to rescuers, the animal quickly woke up and was returned to its owners.

The firefighting operation ended around 11 am. The cause of the fire will be determined by the police.
