Poorly parked cars blocked the ambulance and made it difficult for paramedics to reach a sick 90-year-old woman. The police arrived at the scene and took down the registration numbers of the banned vehicles.
On Monday morning, rescuers were urgently called to one of the apartments in Brzeszcze (Lesser Poland Voivodeship). A 90-year-old woman needed help.
“Unfortunately, the ambulance’s access to the indicated address was blocked by two incorrectly parked cars. The rescuers left the ambulance in front of another block of flats. They took a stretcher and the necessary medical equipment, and then went to the senior citizen,” we read in the police statement.
Drivers face consequences
At the same time, rescuers called the police to the scene. “In a few moments, district police officers arrived on site. They helped the medics transport the patient to the ambulance. Then they wrote down the registration numbers of the Opel and Dacia, whose drivers had parked in places where parking was prohibited,” police say.
Now, inattentive drivers may face a fine, towing at their expense or a ticket. “In the event of a fire, the driver may also be held responsible for obstructing rescue operations, which is punishable by arrest and a fine,” adds the police.
