The gates of the 29th edition of the Pol’and’Rock Festival have been opened. The event will take place on August 3-5 at the Czaplinek-Broczyno airport. The organizers have created a whole temporary town here with a market, a hospital and a lot of attractions.
The area at the airport near Czaplinek was opened punctually on Tuesday noon and a tent city of guests of the 29th Pol’and’Rock Festival (previously Przystanek Woodstock) is already growing there. Thousands of people have already arrived, and more are on their way, although the concerts don’t start until August 3. The event will last until August 5.
The guests were let in by Jurek Owsiak himself, the head of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. – We’re opening the gates. Have fun, stay safe. We love you so much,” he shouted to the crowd that was waiting to enter the event area. Even the weather did not spoil the festivalgoers’ good moods.

Owsiak’s appeal for a peaceful state
Last Friday, at a press conference, Owsiak spoke about the final preparations for the event. – There are no tickets, so anyone can come to us. As soon as you reach us, play according to the rules we have introduced. There are very simple rules that say just be in a very peaceful state with yourself and not introduce any drugs, any chemistry that would spoil the fun – he said.
– We are very determined here. No glass packaging, no naked fire, and then you will indulge in the fun we have prepared for you – he added.
Concerts, cabarets, meetings
Owsiak said that the event will start on Wednesday (August 2). – There will be a cabaret Paranienormalni and Mr. Li – he announced.
– And then we start on Thursday (August 3) at 3 pm – added Owsiak. For three days, the festival stages will feature Spin Doctors, Lady Pank, Brodka, Kwiat Jabłoni, Epica, Biohazard, Napalm Death, Bullet for My Valentine and Zalewski.
We’ve been together for three days. We’re telling everyone, it’ll be clean soon. We secured garbage bags, but a year ago the festival community showed that it cares about this piece of land – emphasized the head of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
Owsiak also noted that the area of the Czaplinek-Broczyno airport is “a piece of land where there is no electric plug, where there is no tap”. – It’s just empty land, big, huge. You have to bring everything with you. And this is the admiration for technology, for all those people who create the festival – he added.

They are prepared for anything
Owsiak also talked about what to expect at the festival. – There will be our big, huge supermarket, which you like very much. That’s why I’m saying it again very loudly: do not bring food with you, these prices are the same as in your neighborhood – he said. – This is the only supermarket where at the end of the festival you can dance, you can make a snake and just stay in such an extraordinary atmosphere – he added.
30,000 copies of guidebooks were prepared for the participants. There is also a special app to download on your phone.
– Here is a list of everything that will be at the festival, but apart from that, you also have such a list in your phones. If you download our partner’s application, everything is described in detail there – said Owsiak.
The head of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity also informed that a special field hospital will operate on the festival grounds, involving almost 200 people. – These are medics, doctors, people who have been coming to us as volunteers for years. They care about your health. Therefore, if something happens to you, report to the Peace Patrol. Remember, if you use any medications that require special storage, we have been prepared for this for years. There are special refrigerators where we keep such medicines. Contact us and then everything will be known – he added.
Traditionally Polanski
Pol’and’Rock Festival is the oldest of the Polish festivals, next year its jubilee, thirtieth edition will take place. Traditionally, the event was organized in Kostrzyn nad Odrą, since 2022 it has been hosted by the West Pomeranian Czaplinek-Broczyno airport. Festival shouting “Departure!” Roman Polański, a retired stationmaster from the railway station in Żary, will officially startwhich has been opening this event since 1997.
Pol’and’Rock Festival traditionally remains an unticketed event – admission to it is completely free. The organizers provide participants with access to the campsite, sanitary zones, medical assistance, various types of shops and paid parking lots. However, participants should prepare themselves properly to spend a few days at the festival, not forgetting, among others, tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, flashlights, cosmetics, sun creams and earplugs.
