In the video published on Wednesday by the Government of Dubai Media Office, we see a cat fighting for its life. The animal is clinging with its paws to the door handle of a car submerged in flood water. The black and white cat was saved by one of the policemen. The officer pulled the furry animal away from the car door and placed him in the lifeboat.
The highest rainfall in 75 years
The highest rainfall in 75 years has hit the United Arab Emirates. Dubai was flooded. The disaster caused some districts of this city to be cut off from the world. The rain penetrated many single-family houses and even apartments in high-rise buildings.
According to meteorologists from the United Arab Emirates, record rainfall was recorded – in less than 24 hours in Al Ain, a city bordering Oman, 254 liters per square meter fell. This is the heaviest rainfall since 1949, before the United Arab Emirates was established in 1971.
